Fishing as a Family

  • Family-oriented talaya casting campaign that preserves and revitalizes talaya casting through hands-on learning and sustainability education

  • Goals include strengthening family connections, passing cultural knowledge to youth, promoting sustainable fishing, and building pride and resilience

  • Includes six family-oriented clinics scheduled from February to December 2025

  • Participation is limited to 12 families, and families completing the curriculum receive a talaya

  • Definition of family is flexible, with at least one adult and one child or youth, and up to four participants per family

PSS Workshops

  • School-based workshops, traditional fishing knowledge, stewardship, and safety

  • Designed for student learning and cultural connection

Let’s Go Fishing

  • Community fishing learning experience with safety, stewardship, and practical skills

Cast & Cook

  • From ocean to table, traditional practice, preparation, respect, and food knowledge

Marine Science Contest

  • Youth engagement through science, ocean knowledge, and stewardship learning

Work Events

  • Community workdays and support activities, prep days, clean-ups, restoration, and event support
